Monica Dodson

Monica Dodson was born in Norfolk, VA, and grew up traveling the US and abroad as an army brat. She returned to Norfolk, VA to complete her studies in Business Management at Norfolk State University. Though Monica's heart had always beaten for art, and while living in Charlotte, NC, she finally satisfied her creative urge by certifying in the Digital Design Program at The Art Institute of Charlotte.
There she thrived in the elements of graphic design, but found her fascination with color and depth would be a focus captured in her vivid expression in painting...specifically abstract.
Monica enjoys stepping outside the boundaries of her expression...making bold, colorful and textured statements. She feels abstract art gives her a "unique purpose of the soul...providing no expectation of pattern or form. It is a definitive transfer of a mystical thought process from creator to receptor".
